Our Mission is to fulfill the Great Commission in the United States, but the Great Commission goes beyond just preaching the gospel to every creature. Jesus not only said that we are to preach the gospel, but also to baptize them and teach them to observe all that He has commanded them (Matthew 28:19-20). This involves the planting of a Bible preaching, soulwinning church in the city where they are converted. It is the will of God for every city in the world to have a Bible preaching, soulwinning Church (Titus 1:5). The mission of S.E.T. Ministries is to fulfill the Great Commission in America, to preach the gospel to every creature and plant a King James Bible preaching, soul winning, Independent Baptist Church in every city.
Our focus will be primarily on the counties in America. All across our land there are entire counties which do not have a single Independent Baptist Church. There are 3,007 counties in the United States, and 932 counties do not have a single Independent Baptist Church. This mean nearly 1/3 of our country has no King James Bible preaching, soulwinning, Independent Baptist Church as a witness in the city. It is no wonder that America is going to hell and becoming one of the most wicked nations on earth. It is the mission of S.E.T. to go into these counties where there is no Independent Baptist Church and preach the gospel to every creature with the goal of planting one there.
Our Method of accomplishing this mission is the same that was used by Jesus in Luke 10. This method was also followed by the early church to take the gospel around the world. Our method is to send out 70 evangelists in pairs of two into these cities to preach the gospel to every creature. We believe these evangelists were single, unmarried, young men, who could go on minimal resources that would not be sufficient to support a wife and children. He refers to them as “lambs” (young sheep) and “babes” and they were told to carry no purse, but to abide in whatsoever house that would receive them, and to eat and drink whatever was given to them, revealing that they did not have to worry about the financial necessities of a family.
As much as we know, the disciples, with the exception of Peter, were all unmarried, single young men, who could drop their occupations at the command of Jesus and follow Him, with no worry about how they would care for a family. The early church followed this method of sending out young unmarried men as evangelists to carry the gospel to the world and fulfilled the great commission before the first generation of the church came to a close (Romans 10:18; Colossians 1:23). They did this by following the example of our Lord with seventy young unmarried men going out in pairs.
Paul and Barnabas were sent out of the church of Antioch as missionaries and both were unmarried. Later it was Paul and Silas and Barnabas and Mark. Paul also had other unmarried young men such as Timothy, Titus, and Luke going with him from city to city, preaching the gospel to every creature and establishing churches in those cities.
Though the church has deviated from this pattern, it will be the method used by our Lord after the rapture and during the great tribulation to preach the gospel to all the world in 3 1/2 years (Matthew 24:14). He will seal 144,000 male virgins and send them forth in pairs of two during the tribulation, preaching the gospel of the kingdom to the whole world (Revelation 14:1-6). The two witnesses of Revelation 11 will be of this group. Even though this method has been abandoned by the church today, the Lord will still resort to it as His choice method of carrying the gospel to the world.
Jesus said, “the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.”
The Mormons saw thus method and have used it to carry Mormonism to all the world in less than 100 years of existence. Devout young Mormons are taught that when they finish school, before pursuing a career, college, or family, they should give two years to go in pairs of two into the cities and spread their doctrines.
S.E.T. Ministries uses this method of recruiting, training, and sending young, unmarried men in pairs of two, to fulfill this mission of preaching the gospel to every creature and planting an Independent Baptist Church in every city in America. We also have a Pricilla and Aquila division consisting of husband and wife teams that want to be a part of this church planting ministry.
While still maintaining their membership in their local churches, they spend up to 6 hours a day, 5 days a week testifying publicly and from house to house, inviting each to a scheduled tent meeting held every 40 days, where there will be preaching by one of the staff evangelists of S.E.T. Ministries. As souls are saved, a church is organized and turned over to a Pastor, thus fulfilling our mission in that city.
S.E.T. Ministries is a local church ministry, under the leadership of Evangelist Bobby Vangiller, who spent 33 years as a Pastor of one single church in Georgia, and is currently sent out by Morning Star Baptist Church in Cleveland, NC, Pastor Ronnie Young. It is sustained by the support of God’s people through local Independent Baptist Churches. Would you prayerfully consider giving yourself to be one of ”The Seventy” and also of your means to support the work?
“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:1-2
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go... Isaiah 6:8-9
